Thanks to Thomas Lösch for this report:

The J/22 Euro-Cup on Lake Wolfgangsee in Austria was an exciting and thrilling event that brought together J/22 sailors from four countries this October. The Union-Yacht-Club Wolfgangsee organized this event in a picturesque setting, surrounded by the impressive mountains and clear waters of Lake Wolfgangsee. Despite the extremely bad weather forecasts: 5 to maximum 10 degrees, snow down to 1200 m above sea level, rain and hardly any wind, 15 weatherproof crews still came. After craning in the boats, registering and welcoming the participants on Thursday, October 3, we headed out onto the water for the warm-up race in light westerly winds. Most of the participants took the opportunity to get to know the area, adjust the boats to the expected conditions and test the right clothing. The conditions were at times challengingly varied, with shifting winds providing both challenges and opportunities for the competitors. The races were well organized, and the Race Committee ensured that everything ran smoothly. The atmosphere was one of sporting ambition and camaraderie. The sailors enjoyed the exciting competition and the opportunity to exchange ideas with like-minded people. In addition to the racing, there were also social events that gave the participants the opportunity to exchange experiences.
